Three Brothers, One Vision
In 1950, Sam, Lou, and Abe DeSatnik set out to serve Cleveland's bustling restaurant and bar scene. Their humble storefront on Carnegie Avenue carried just 700 items — paper supplies, janitorial products, and cleaning chemicals.
The brothers mixed their own cleaning solutions, bagged charcoal by hand, and sought out unique deals like closeout china and unclaimed freight. By 1965, Dean Supply became a trailblazer, opening one of the country's first cash-and-carry outlets.
When a fire destroyed the warehouse in 1973, the local community rallied behind the brothers, helping them rebuild. A testament to the relationships and trust they had cultivated over the years.

The Beginning

Dean Supply opens one of the country's first cash-and-carry restaurant supply outlets — a revolutionary concept at the time.
Fire & Resilience
A devastating warehouse fire strikes. The Cleveland community rallies behind the brothers, helping them rebuild and reopen on Euclid Avenue.
Woodland Avenue
Dean Supply opens its current 20,000 sq ft showroom on Woodland Avenue — one of the largest in the Midwest, and a one-stop shop for the foodservice industry.
