Where Caterers Buy Their Display

Dean Supply is a family-owned distributor in Cleveland, in business since 1950. We carry more display and presentation than anyone around here — risers, stands, tiers, platters, bowls and frames — and we carry it deep.

Plus every disposable an event burns through: foil pans, dome lids, take-out containers, cutlery, cups and napkins. One stop, one invoice.

The Price Story

Risers Start at $2.29

Presentation is the cheapest upgrade in catering. Height turns a flat table into a display, and a riser costs less than a case of napkins.

These are live prices and live stock. Click through to see the rest.

Prices update from the product pages, so what you see is current. Stock moves — if you need twenty of one piece, call 216-325-0994 and we will confirm and hold it.

What It Looks Like on the Table

By Event

What Each Job Needs

Different events, different loads. Here is what usually goes in the van.

Drop-off catering

No staff on site, so the packaging is the presentation. It has to travel, hold temperature and look right when somebody else opens it.

What you load
  • Foil pans and dome lids
  • Oblong take-out pans
  • Disposable platters
  • Serving utensils
  • Labels and sternos
  • Carry bags and boxes

Buffets and stations

Height is the whole trick. Flat tables read as cheap; risers and tiers make the same food look like more.

What you load
  • Risers and tiers
  • Chafers and fuel
  • Platters and bowls
  • Table covers and skirting
  • Serving spoons and tongs
  • Sign holders

Plated and served dinners

Consistency across a room. Everything matched, everything hot, everything out at once.

What you load
  • Plate covers and stacking
  • Insulated carriers
  • Banquet frames
  • Flatware and glassware
  • Water pitchers
  • Bus tubs

Cocktail and passed service

Small pieces, lots of them, and trays that a server can hold in one hand for an hour.

What you load
  • Passing trays
  • Small plates and picks
  • Cocktail napkins
  • Bar tools and ice bins
  • Disposable stemware
  • Bussing carts

Outdoor, tents and picnics

No kitchen, no power you did not bring, and weather. Everything travels and nothing stays hot on its own.

What you load
  • Insulated carriers
  • Sternos and wind guards
  • Foil pans and covers
  • Coolers and ice
  • Hand sinks and sanitiser
  • Trash cans and liners

Questions

Before You Come In

Do I need an account to buy?

No. The showroom is open to the public and you can order on the website without one. An account gets you terms and a rep.

How cheap are the risers, really?

They start at $2.29 and most sit between $3 and $9. Wood quarter ovals in four finishes are $3.99. Wrought iron 12 inch is $8.99.

We buy display deep and hold it, which is why the price is what it is and why there is usually stock behind it.

Can I see it before I buy it?

Yes, and for display pieces you should. Colour, finish and scale never read the same on a screen. Come and put a platter on a riser and see it.

Do you have enough stock for a large event?

Usually. Display pieces run in the dozens and hundreds rather than ones and twos. Call ahead for anything over about twenty of one item and we will confirm and hold it.

Can you print our logo?

Yes — cups, napkins, bags and boxes. Minimums apply and lead times run in weeks, so plan it well ahead of the season.

What about foil pans by the case?

Full, half and third size, oblong take-out, dome lids and board lids, all by the case. That is everyday stock, not special order.

I need it tomorrow. What are my options?

Order by 3:00 PM the day before your delivery day and it makes your next scheduled stop. Faster than that, come to the showroom — including Saturday morning.

Do you rent?

No, we sell. For most caterers buying display pieces at these prices works out cheaper than renting them twice.
