How to Buy

Four Ways, Whichever Your Policy Requires

Purchasing rules differ by institution and dollar threshold. We are set up for all four routes and will send whatever documentation your procurement office needs on file.

Cooperative contract Awarded 1GPA contract holder. Competitively bid under state rules, so an eligible public institution can buy off the existing award.
Your own solicitation Send the RFP or ITB. We respond line by line and flag anything we cannot supply.
Purchase order Most supply spend sits under the bid threshold. Open an account and departments issue POs with terms.
Through a management company If dining is contract-run, we can be set up as an approved local supplier for fill-in and specialty items.

Questions

Before You Open an Account

What is the delivery minimum?

$150 in merchandise, plus a $2.99 fuel surcharge, on local truck delivery. Commercial and institutional addresses only. See local truck delivery.

How fast can we get an order?

Order by 3:00 PM the day before your delivery day and it makes your next scheduled stop. Your delivery days depend on which route you are on.

Faster than that, the showroom is open to the public and you can collect the same day.

Do we have to go out to bid?

Depends on your policy and the amount. We are set up for a cooperative contract, your own solicitation, or a purchase order under threshold. We will send the documentation your office needs.

Can we buy on a PO with terms?

Yes. Institutional accounts order by PO. Your office issues against the account and receives invoices as usual.

Are you set up for tax exemption?

Yes. Send the certificate at account opening and it applies to everything after.

Can different departments order separately?

Yes. Dining, athletics, housing and facilities can each order to their own dock with invoices going to one office.

Can we buy from you if dining is contract-managed?

Yes. We can be an approved local supplier alongside a national programme — which is usually where fill-in, emergency and specialty orders end up anyway.

Do you sell equipment or only supplies?

Both. Equipment comes with design and layout help, Rent-Try-Buy so you can trial a unit in a live venue, financing, and extended warranties.

Can you print our logo on packaging?

Yes — cups, napkins, bags, boxes and wraps. Minimums apply and lead times run in weeks, so start well before the semester you need it.

Something broke and we need disposables today.

Call 216-325-0994. If your route runs tomorrow we can put it on the truck; if not, the showroom is open to the public and someone can collect the same day.

How do departments reorder?

Phone, email, the website, or our ordering app. The app shows your usual items and more than one person can be set up on it. See ordering by app.

What packaging works for a micro-market?

Tamper-evident containers, seal labels, and date and ingredient labels. With no cashier on the floor, a visible seal is the only evidence the item is still what your kitchen made.

Sustainable Packaging

Compostable and Reusable Options

We stock compostable service ware alongside conventional and reusable. Straight advice on which makes sense: compostable only helps if your hauler takes it to a compost site, and where you have a working dish room, reusable beats every disposable on cost per meal.

Compostable trays and bowls Plant fibre service ware for concepts without a dish room.
Fibre portion cups 2 oz and 4 oz souffle cups in plant fibre. Packs and cases.
Compostable cups Hot and cold cups in plant-based material, with matching lids.
Reusable where you can wash it With a working dish room, reusable ware costs less per meal and creates less waste than any disposable.
