Unplug the heat plate of the coffee maker and use the following formula to figure out how much it will save you:

1. Check the wattage of the machine. Ex. 200.
2. Multiply wattage by the number of hours your appliance is in use. Ex. 200 x 16hrs/day = 3,200.
3. Divide by 1000 to get Kilowatt hours. Ex. 3,200 / 1,000 = 3.2 KWH.
4. Check your local Kilowatt hourly rate. Ex. Clark County (Las Vegas), is 5.73 cents per KWH. Multiply your KWH by the local rate. 3.2 KWH x .0573 = .18 cents/day. So you save $65/year, per warmer, which pays for the server.
