Akron Kitchens, 40 Minutes From Our Warehouse.

Dean Supply has stocked Northeast Ohio kitchens since 1950. Akron restaurants, caterers, churches, schools and food trucks order from a warehouse that's a short run up I-77 — not a fulfillment center three states away.

The Rubber City

Akron Builds Things. Including a Food Scene.

Akron made its name on rubber, and it still carries itself like a town that makes things. Goodyear's still here. So is Stan Hywet, and the Rubber Ducks at Canal Park on a summer night, and a hometown kid who put the city on every sports broadcast in the country.

The Towpath runs right through it, following the old Ohio & Erie Canal north into Cuyahoga Valley National Park — the only national park in Ohio, sitting in the space between Akron and Cleveland. Blossom draws the orchestra out of the city every summer. The Art Museum punches well above the city's weight.

And Akron eats like a place with opinions. Swensons still has cars lined up at the curb. Luigi's has had a line out the door downtown since 1949. Highland Square and North Hill are turning out rooms that would hold their own in a much bigger market.

Those kitchens need pans, pounds of foil, cases of to-go containers and someone who picks up the phone. That's a forty-minute drive from here — or a stop on our delivery route.

Why Akron Buys Here

Close Enough to Matter.

Most suppliers serving Akron are shipping from a hub hundreds of miles away. We're up I-77, with a 20,000 square foot showroom you can walk into and inventory picked off our own shelves.

That proximity is the whole argument. Same-week local truck delivery on scheduled routes instead of a tracking number that stalls in a hub. A showroom you can drive to when you need to see a piece of equipment before you commit. And a phone number that reaches someone who knows the catalog.

We're independently owned, but we buy through national groups like Pride Centric Resources and The United Group — so buying local doesn't cost you national pricing.

If You're Off the Route

Fast Freight, Short Distance

Akron orders that don't fall on a truck route ship from Cleveland — a short enough hop that most arrive in a day or two. Large items, bulk orders and equipment go LTL freight.

  • Buy by the each or by the case
  • Equipment, smallwares and janitorial on one order
  • Call for freight quotes on oversize items

Trade Pricing and Tax-Exempt Checkout

A business account puts trade pricing on your login and drops sales tax once your resale or nonprofit certificate is on file. Setup is free and takes a couple of minutes.

We're also an awarded 1GPA cooperative contract holder, so Summit County schools, cities and agencies can buy on an existing cooperative contract instead of going out to bid.

Common Questions

Ordering From Akron

Do you deliver to Akron on your own trucks?

Parts of Summit County fall inside our roughly 40-mile local delivery radius and parts sit right at the edge. Call 216-771-3300 with your address and we'll tell you whether you're on a route. Local delivery is commercial addresses only, $150 minimum plus a $2.99 fuel surcharge.

How fast is shipping to Akron if I'm not on a route?

We ship from Cleveland, so most Akron orders land in a day or two by FedEx or USPS. Oversize items, bulk orders and equipment ship LTL freight — call for a quote on those.

Can I drive up and shop the showroom?

Yes, and plenty of Akron operators do. We're about 40 minutes north on I-77 at 3500 Woodland Ave, open to the public with no account or vendor license required. Monday–Friday 9–5, Saturday 10–4.

Can I order online and pick up in Cleveland?

Yes. Choose Pick Up at checkout and we'll pull and pack your order — usually ready within the hour during business hours. Worth doing if you're making the drive for something specific.

Do you sell to schools, churches and city agencies?

Yes. We're an awarded 1GPA cooperative contract holder, so public agencies can buy on an existing contract instead of going out to bid. Tax-exempt organizations can put a certificate on file for tax-free checkout.
